Global Connections Certificate

Golden Hills School Division’s vision is to inspire confident, caring, connected citizens of the world, and we support this through our student initiative to expand global learning and leadership competencies in our high school students. Student participants will contribute to the program throughout their high school career, and after three years of collaborating and connecting on global issues, they will earn a Global Connections Certificate. This certificate signifies a meaningful commitment to cultural awareness, global citizenship, and sustainability.


Students enrolled in the certificate must:

  •         Have a second language, or enrol in second language courses
  •         Participate in school related clubs and events (i.e Model UN, Net Zero)
  •         Earn credits towards Leadership, Character, and Social Responsibility
  •         Participate in an International Experience or International Volunteerism


Students have the opportunity to participate in the Mount Royal Dual Credit program, Citizenship without Borders, earning high school and university credits.


Global Competency focus in the areas of collaboration, leadership, critical thinking, creativity, communication, and citizenship.


Upon successful completion and participation in the program, students are recognized for their efforts at their High School Graduation ceremony by receiving the Global Connections Certificate.
