Drumheller Composite High School
School Website
The current Drumheller Composite High School building was originally designed and built as Drumheller Vocational High School in 1963 by the Federal Government to provide high school vocational facilities for a wide geographic range in South/East/Central Albert. In 1966 the high school was expanded by adding an academic wing and became known as Drumheller Composite High School. The dormitory that adjoins the school was originally for out-of-town students but has recently undergone a massive renovation and is now used for our International Students.
Drumheller Composite High School is now grades 7 to 12. DCHS offers a wide range of academic and vocational programs to junior and senior high students. A full range of senior high academic courses are offered through traditional classroom instruction. Many optional courses are also offered at the high school level including Computers Physical Education, Art, Drama, Band, Choral, French, CALM, Accounting, Information Processing, Special Projects and Work Experience. The Career and Technology Studies (CTS) areas offer full programs of study in Food Preparation, Building Constructions, Drafting, Beauty Culture and Automotives/Mechanics
The junior High program of studies at DCHS covers all of the core subject areas, with similar optional courses as are offered in the senior high program. |
