Carbon School
School Website
Carbon School is a grade one to twelve school nestled in the valley along the Kneehill Creek. In 1990 there was a major renovation carried out where the whole building was redone inside and the outside also took on a new look.
The school program is a comprehensive student-centered one which addresses the individual needs of every child. The special education program at Carbon consists of an integrated approach with teacher assistants available. A computer program starts with the grade one class and is available to all students all through school. The Distant Learning Program started when Carbon School was an original participant in the Small Schools Distant Learning Project and has grown into a critical component of the high school. The Fine Arts Program includes Music and Art in the elementary and a Drama Program for the junior and senior high. Most students are involved in the annual Christmas Concert and also in the Drumheller Music Festival.
Traditionally, Carbon School has always been very active in all athletic areas. All students are encouraged to participate and many have excelled at the provincial level in Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field and Badminton.
