Step One
Complete an application form. The form is available to be filled in online, printed and mailed.
With your competed, accurate application, please include:
- A $200, non-refundable, Registration Fee via Canadian money order, Visa, Mastercard, or signed travelers cheques
payable to Golden Hills School Division
- Attested transcripts of achievement for past three years of school (We accept CEC certification of academic documents)
- Birth certificate, if available, or a copy of the passport
- A Letter of Intent – stating why you wish to study in Canada and your long term academic goals (one page maximum)
- Two recent photographs and one family picture
- TOEFL, IELTS, MELAB, CAEL or any recognized English Proficiency results if completed
Step Two
Once you have received a Golden Hills School Division Acceptance letter, payment for the amount required for the full year or the amount required for one semester is due to confirm your participation. Payment can be made by certified cheque, bank draft, or direct deposit.
Please indicate clearly the name of the student for which the funds are intended. Please send funds to:

Step Three
Fill out the Homestay Application Form. A $395 placement fee is required. One-half of the Placement Fee must be paid before leaving your country. The balance of the tuition and homestay fee must be paid by December 1st. Please send funds, clearly indicating the student’s name, to Golden Hills School Division. Note: GHSD accepts full guardianship for students under the age of 18.
Step Four
You must have medical insurance while you stay in Canada. This can be purchased for $595 per year. Included in our coverage are Prescriptions, Family Transportation, Air Ambulance, Repatriation, Emergency Dental, Trips to USA, Emergency Medical Evacuation, and Doctor Visits. The purchase of medical insurance can be done in Canada. Please check with the Program Director when you arrive. Medical insurance is mandatory.
Step Five
Apply for a student visa from the Canadian High Commission in your country. Attach your acceptance letter and proof of payment with your application.
Step Six
Prepare to travel to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. You should arrive one week prior to the first week of school. Contact Golden Hills School Division regarding your itinerary.
